Challenge
AMP sought a dynamic compliance partner capable of servicing its clients and engaged Vantage to service a group of trade associations and corporate PACs. One of the corporations in this group decided to allow their PAC to enter a dormant phase, pausing contributions and disbursements. During that period, core compliance staff transitioned out and left the PAC with no internal processes. Over time, the PAC made the decision to relaunch and resume its advocacy efforts. Relaunching their PAC, however, presented numerous challenges. Historical data needed reconciling, dormant accounts required reopening, and new PAC officers required immediate onboarding. The corporate PAC needed a fast, efficient, and in-depth review in order to relaunch.
Solution
Vantage was an integral part of the PAC’s relaunch, beginning with a full compliance audit of the dormant period. Simultaneously, the PAC’s financial records were reconstructed, best practices for payroll contributions were implemented, and reconciliation procedures established. Key vendors were re-engaged to restore systems with secure, updated access. The detailed review of historical PAC data revealed discrepancies between the bank balance and filed reports. Vantage managed the drafting and filing of all necessary FEC amendments.
Result
Vantage has established a robust internal reporting system that has allowed the company’s PAC to resume their efforts in fundraising and making expenditures at the volume they were accustomed to before going dormant. Today, their PAC is once again highly active and fully operational. Furthermore, AMP’s strategic partnership with Vantage Compliance has only continued to grow and strengthen.
